We had hoped that low intensity chemotherapy would be adequate given his age at time of presentation. However we now have evidence of disease progression and feel that he will require some very intensive treatment with chemotherapy (drugs) given every 10 days for 70 days. He is likely to be in hospital for very long periods of this. After approximately 40 days we will look to see how he is responding. When we have completed the first 70 days, we will again re-assess where he has disease. If possible we will then proceed with a large operation to remove the mass from his abdomen and follow this with very high dose chemotherapy. Around day 40 of chemotherapy, we will try and collect some special stem cells which will help us to give Scott the very high dose chemotherapy. These treatments will be followed by radiotherapy and maintenance chemotherapy A bit added I dont know when i will next get online but have read the messages that are here so far, please dont be in tears, i know we havent got an easy journey ahead of us but Scott and myself are both fighters, and il be damned if i will let this beat us, thanks for the all the thoughts, "online for today" has Scott's update for today, i will keep in contact with Sassie and Sharon amongst others and im sure they will keep you informed on how Scott is, bye for now Last Edited By: nikki in hull 16/06/2008 17:58:56.
