I wonder if any of you can help me?
A while back I'm sure that I saw a posting saying someone had a sizing template for the new postal prices.
I've been trying to get one of these and there seem to be 2 types:
1. A little cardboard letterbox thingy, price between £4 and £7
2. A plastic letterbox thingy, price about £20
If any of you have these, are the little cheap ones ok or are they very flimsy?
Would it be better to buy the more expensive one or is this a waste of money?
If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful as I'm going round the twist here!

We had one of the cardboard ones in work and I found it great. I'm only sorry I didn't bring it with me when I left there as I keep having to go to
the PO to check a card before I post it. Didn't know you could buy one. I asked a few weeks ago in my local PO and they didn't think they were sold
anywhere.

I have a thick card one and it was free. I just asked on the royal mail site and they sent me one! Works pretty well, but if I'm not sure, I take the
envelope to the post office so they can check it on their solid one. Must ask if they have any spares!! Janet

I've not seen the card ones, but we do have one of the plastic ones at work and it is virtually indestructible. If you're regularly sending lots of
items then it might be an investment, but if you don't then I'd imagine the card ones would be pretty good. Also, it depends on the weight of an item,
so you may be sending something heavy yet small which although in size might be classed as a large letter, wouldn't go as a large letter but a package.
Not sure if that helps or confuses further.

I got a wooden one from Ebay for a few pounds. I use it all the time to check that I have the correct postage. Sometimes I am expecting it to be a large letter but it surprises me and goes through the slot. Sarah xxx |

I had the paper one we got from the Royal Mail glued onto some wooden board & then the holes were cut out & I find that a great help.

I still take it to the counter to be sized. The thought of someone having to pay would upset me I,m afraid. Hugs Rita xxx

I have a cardboard one, I just asked on their web site and it came free. The only thing is is might "give" a bit when pushing thick items through. So
anything that does this I alway check at the post office in the plastic one.

I got a plastic one from staples it was about £2.99 and have found it to be really useful.

Hi Chrissie, I have the cardboard one and it is very robust. If the envelope doesn't go through easily (if you have to really push it through) its the next
rate up. When did they start charging. Got mine free from the local main Royal Mail sorting depot. Hope this answers your question. Chrissie x

I bought one from Ebay when they first came out, it's a Salter Brecknell Pricing in Proportion Ruler, it is a hard plastic ruler (white and blue) and I
only paid a few pounds for it..
