We had this discussion while I was away with my sisters and it came up again today when I was asked to make a card for a friend and she looked through my
files!
I thought how much my style and ability had changed over the years!
My first cards I think now I would almost be ashamed to show anyone but at the time I know I was pleased with them!
I know I still make mistakes but i do try to call them happy accidents and just think of them as one of a kind!
Just a little while ago I put a horsey backing paper on an American Frontier card upside down. My sister pointed it out ( she would see a tiny imperfection a
mile away!)
I just told her they were Australian horses!!! lol
I just wondered what other members here thought of there first attempts compared with now?

I cringe when I look at my first cards now ,smudged stamping was my speciality !!

oh boy my first cards i was so proud of i would get up in the night and look at them thinking i made that all my first cards sold my daughter took them in to
the hospital where she works and sold them i i made £50 but now when i think back i wonder how they sold i do keep a record of all the cards i make i like to
think i am much inproved since day one

I'm a bit like Tina, least said the better!! Mine were rubbish, but I thought they were good. i stil don't do elaborate cards but I like to think
I'm getting better. My mam took on a lot of mine to send out as she still thought the original ones were good. She's never lived!!!! My auntie Mary
(Hyacinth Bucket) tends to be the one to notice an imperfection ie paper upside down. I like the quick response about the Australian horses!!
I think I best give up with the typing I've had to re-type this several times due to spelling mistakes........... I shall blame the wine. Love Christine xx |

I still have some of my first cards but I try not to think about them, they are in a box at the back of a cupboard. In fact for Easter my aunt sent me one of
my own handmade cards and it was one from a long, long time ago. I kept looking at it on the mantelpiece and thought blimey I have improved somewhat'

I too look back on 'early days' cards, n i think it was only the fact that no-one had seen things like that that they sold at all.
still it's nice to know we have all improved and continue to day by day given the inspiration by joanna n her team n the encouragment we receive from eachother on this wonderful forum. happy crafting, chell x |

Like most of us I really cringe when I think of the first cards I made and SOLD!! there are a few in a box at the back of a cupboard thank goodness I have
improved somewhat

I throw some bits out just the other night - then lost a bill so had to hunt the recyled bin - could have been worse - still I found my first 2 cards and can`t
believe what they were like - just for old times sake i brought then in and it quiet fun looking at them - reminds how much you have learnt
