Yes, I remember the Ovaltinies and Dick Barton. Funny that when thinking about things of that era I always think of the Omo add too.

My dad was an Ovaltinie! I used to listed to `Listen with Mother`, `The Billy Cotton Bandshow` (always reminds me of Sunday lunch!!) `the Goons` and `Round the
Horne`. I don't remember listening to Dick Barton but I remember the theme tune. Uncle Mac used to play `I'm a pink toothbrush` a lot!! I used to cry
when Andy Pandy went back in his basket, according to my mum! I didn't like Muffin the mule because you could see the strings!
The children today might be able to use computers but they have no idea how to interact with other people. I saw a TV ad. the other night for a Beachball game for the Wii console. Surely a real beachball would be a lot cheaper and better for them? Oh dear, now I sound like my mum!! |
