I was wondering if anyone could help me on a couple of things? Firstly, has anyone got a HP printer that uses cartridges 21 and 22? If so, do you know if you are able to refill these using bottled ink? It's costing me a fortune at the moment, I'm printing off so much of Joanna's stuff that I'm spending about £26 every couple of weeks on ink! I can't afford to keep crafting at this rate. Secondly, could anyone give advice as to what paper is good for printing decoupage on that gives good effects. I'm currently using Staples plain paper 160gsm and 240gsm but I would like to achieve the same effects you all get from your decoupage. Again, money is an issue so the cheaper the cost the better. Sorry, not being tight but money is an issue at the moment and if I can't find cheaper alternatives then I will have to give up crafting! Thanks so much in advance Cheryl x

We have tried to refill cartridges, but it really isn't worth it, the results are not too good, and in fact we ended up buying a new printer because it was so rubbish. When we men6ioned in the shop about refilling cartridges, the man said he had the same problem, and had to buy a new one as well. Sorry to be a wet blanket. I do understand the money issue, I just try to be economical with the things I print. When I print a sheet of toppers off, I use them up on other cards, using them in different designs. I will be interested to see what anyone else says about the paper, as it is always interesting to hear what other people use. Love Linda

Posts: 10811 (30/06/2008 19:13:25) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I have a hp but not those numbers - I use the high ink refils which are 10ml instead of 4-5ml and the work well for me - plus the company I get 10% off too - I have never had any problems from them The ones I use as they are the 6 ink type are £4.99 each or if you order 2 of one colour they are only £3.99 - I know people say buy orginals but I can`t afford it the amount I use Hope you get sorted - please shout if you want the company details Suzanne

If you want to stick to originals, Asda and Tesco both sell them quite cheaply. However you need to be aware that the orignals only have about a third of the quantity of ink compared to compatibles. Asda is also good for cheap photo paper. Their cheap glossy one is good for decoupage, and I usd the matte one for backing papers. Because I live in a small town, I think these traders can charge what they like for things and I have to travel quite some distance to go to the likes of Staples. I used to do overzelus printing when i got a new cd but not now i only print what i need O:( regarding paper for printing your decoupage its really all depends what quality you want Tesco have a fabulous variety of paper at reasonable prices both in their bestphoto copying paper and photographic paper and these are often reduced.online ordering can save you pennies too have you tried Office Depot they have good prices too Hugs and smiles Anne xxxxxx

They do all makes, here is the link to the HP http://www.prink.co.uk/ink-cartridges/pages/hp.htm The carts hold more ink that the proper ones, give a good result and the postage is free. It usually only takes a couple of days to get the order too. Mine are £13 a set instead of about £70. I tried re-filling once and ended up having to claim on the insurance for the ink that leaked from the printer on the carpet! Sue
