I love my book of trick board (I have a few in my gallery). I think it is easy to use once you do a few & you get used to it.
Best tips I can give are: 1. Use a 5 or 6 mm ball tool 2. Rub your ball tool in a bar of dry soap (I do this) to help it slide on card while embossing or rub back of card where you are embossing with a tumble dryer sheet. 3. Emboss & cut out all your layers. 4. Glue all the layers to each other down the centre spine. 5. Fold along the spine edges on both sides of the centre. 6. Bend back each side of the card by rollling around something (I use my PVA glue tube). This will give height to your pages. Card ends up seagull shaped. 7. Glue centre spine to backing board. 8. Starting with largest page glue down left & right edges of pages to your backing board. I run a single line of pva down under edge, put in place and then hold with soft spring pegs until PVA sets. You can just hold it if you are patient. Repeat process for each layer. Other people may have better tips but this is the method I have found works best for me. Caroline |

Allow yourself to waste at least the first one you make, getting used to the board. Otherwise enjoy, the results as youve seen can be fabulous.
Clair P.S follow the tips by Caroline you can't go far wrong. |

Some good hints from Caroline. Personally, I don't use a backing board and include a stand to display the card, but I think it's a matter of personal
taste. I also use a tumble drier sheet or spray with paperglide on the back to make the tool run better. Don't use paperglide (and go easy with most
things) on the back of parchment (velum) if using too.
A hint someone gave me on here was to run a thin thread of glue around the embossing, after cutting out, if you intend to use a peel-off border on the book (makes a lovely edge and hides any poor cutting). It keeps the peel-off in place much better than relying on it sticking by itself. Janet |

I love the bookatrix board but I don't stick down the pages - just down the spine. Then you can decorate the inside pages or just show off whatever pretty
paper/card you've used!

I do the same as carolpg, i generally do three pages, i use double sided foam tape down the spine just to give a small lift and i roll the pages around a
rolling pin. There are a couple in my images.
Enjoy your bookatrix, i am sure you will find your own style. Diane |

I love the Bookatrix Board and have used it a lot. The secret is top be confident with the ball tool . Keep it upright and press down firmly. This should take
you around the channels easily. As with everything, it comes with practise !
Caroline has given a very comprehensive account of how to use it. If I want to get some lift on the the finished book I gently roll the pages before I assemble and put some silicone under the top two layers. This holds it in place nicely. To make the top layer in acetate can give a very luxurious look. Edged with peel offs and topped with paper flowers you will certainly achieve the 'wow' factor ! There is one like that in my gallery under ' Enchanted Christmas'. Good luck with the board, it makes beautiful cards ! Best wishes Sonia |
