With the majority of my cards then definitely CD's. BUT, the only problem with CD's is that you cannot foil or emboss without a lot of hassle, or use
really thick card to print straight onto - sometimes it is easier to grab a card blank from a kit and go with that.

I haven't bought any major "kits" as such, although have bought odd decoupage sheets, and Dufex, but I think there is a place for them as well as
CDs and don't forget stamps - for a third option.
I think if I saw a really good quality kit, with designs I really felt I could use - I might be tempted. Mags |

I don't buy kits as there would be loads in it that I wouldn't use. My preference is for CDs but not the card building graphics package types, I love
the ones like Joanna does so that it allows room for my input and cards created with different textures [I'm a touchy feely person he he]. CDs also have
the advantage of reducing storage space needed.

I think that I would now say CD's are my preference. A work colleague suggested them and I resisted for a long while. I have only tried Joanna's but
love them. I only make cards for family and friends as working I do not have a lot of time. There is no waste they don't take up much room and I can make
one card at a time. I have bought kits from QVC but they are too big for me I don't want to make 40 cards the same or similar. Joanna please keep up the
good work.

I like many many kits on QVC or Ideal World and I have bought a few in my time but once they are used they are gone. For my cards for charity I have moved to
CDs and you only need to print out what you want, when you want and keep printing from them over and over again. Yes, you don't get foiling on the images
but I tend to use mirror card, like Joanna does often, to give that bit of luxury.

It's cds for me every time. I have bought a few kits but ended up giving them to my neice. With cds theres no waste - I just print what I need and if I do
print out more than I need Jasmine gets them too. I do like the look of some of the kits recently on telly but would never use it all.

Living in the crafting wilderness that I do, I would go for cds every time. I don't want a kit that someone else has put together, because I am sure that
there will be elements which are disappointing - I was given some components recently, and whilst they looked quite cute on the TV, I was really disappointed
in them, and glad that I hadn't parted with any (extremely hard-earned) cash for them.
I love Joannas CDs, wish I could afford more, in the meantime, I do a lot of decoupage, free online, and my own photos, and as soon as I can afford it, Joannas cardmakers year, victoran companion, floral fantasy and the new one will be in my hot sweaty little mitts
With these, I can use mediocre card stock (all that is available here) and some half decent photo paper, and come up with some really decent cards with the addition of a few embellishments.
As far as I am concerned, Joanna has come out with the best CDs, I have seen no others that I would rather have, and I do watch C&C a LOT!!! (usually whilst ironing - I run a B&B - LOTS of ironing!!!!) |

Cd's now but I have bought a couple of kits - only when I'm fairly sure I will use ALL of it though. The Cds seem to be so much more versatile and with
Joanna having such a huge range of images on her various cds, I rarely am stuck for an idea for someone.

There are advantages to them both - and disadavntages (and I use both of course, from time to time), but my favourite method of making cards is from scratch,
maybe using some papers from a CD or kit or handmade in various ways, for the purpose.
I love parchment craft, and just use a pattern from a book or even ones I've devised myself. I started making cards way before kits or cds were available - everything was made from whatever was to hand. I got pricking templates early on, and some stitching patterns, but you had to use your imagination much more then and although the cards took longer, it was more satisfying -it was a craft that practise improved. Now I think people can be divided into two main categories - card makers and card crafters. Anyone can stick a ready made topper on a bit of card, it is far harder , but much more satisfying, to make it from scratch. I realise there is a place for fast cards, but I get so mad when I see in magazines mainly, that someone made 100 cards in 2 hours or whatever - that is NOT a card crafter!!! Stamping opened up a whole new world and again, nothing to do with kits or CDs. So I agree there is a place for both, but only as a secondary aid, not as the main way of making cards in general. I'll get off my soap-box now!! Janet

I gave up buying kits about two years ago as I found them a bit disappointing and boring to make up. Many of the kits I did buy are still waiting to be used
and it is my aim to use them all this year. All I buy now are CD's, masses of stamps and other bits as I need them.

Cd's Cd's Cd's every time now. I've still got kits bought from QVC 10/11 years ago and STILL not used them.
I do go to craft shops 1, for a day out!!; 2, for a bit of different inspiration, espicially if a demo day is on; 3, to get individual sheets of paper/card for something special and 4; to get basic cardstock and envelopes. Recently been getting back into rubber stamping again for some cards though. Christine xxx |

i use kits in bits, take out things n use them on other projects, use the card for matting,
go on ladies break it all up n use it differently, after all it's what we do with it that makes it different, doesn't have to look like the pic on the front. chell x |

I think kits are ok but my preference is the CD. Joanne's are brilliant and so adaptable for any card. Mags

CD'S for me, because they will go through my letter box. Cannot guarantee I will be in when postman delivers and such a pain having to get two buses to go
and collect larger items from the post office. So CD's for me.
