I do say I agree with Gizzwizz on this. I don't like the talent type of reality TV but that is just my opinion and I know others feel quite the opposite.
I never watched the first series of BB but got into it because others were saying it was good. Now I watch, cringe and yes even yell at the TV. I say every
year I will just watch them go in and not watch again but curiosity gets the better of me and I have to watch.
I do feel there is far too much reality TV though and money could be better spent on some quality programmes. |

HATE HATE HATE them ALL!
Any mention of a 'Realtity' shows from Big Brother to Maria to Britains got talent (not) makes me turn off, turn over or put a good film on, and seriously consider NOT buying the TV license next time it's due. Can you tell I'm not keen on reality shows
Give me a good drama (Mr Darcy please), or bit of action (Captain Jack Sparrow) and I'm happy.![]() ![]()

I'm not a fan of the reality TV shows per se, though I do have to admit to enjoying the Apprentice
What tends to get shown on TV as reality shows aren't run of the mill normal people as that would make poor viewing, so I believe to qualify to enter one of these programs you have to be slightly off the wall in the first place. Chaos increases viewing figures. Jenny M xx |

I do not allow any of these on my TV - reality shows, game shows, soaps, makeover shows in any shape or form, property shop type shows. If it aint got balls I
don't watch it
(I mainly only watch footy or cricket, occasionally
tennis). Before I met OH I didn't even have a TV. It is a complete waste of money if you ask me. I prefer to craft and spend the cash on that (and walk my dog of course). And the word Celebrity just makes me reach for
the off switch!

It seems after reading these comments and the letter on driving standards that basically alot of people have forgotten how to be kind or considerate and to put
someone else first . Sounds very pious but a selfishness has crept in and it's ME first , perhaps you have to be aggressive these days. I stepped
sideways about 3 feet out of a queue in Sainsburys to see if the next counter was going to get a cashier and was practically hit over the head when I moved
back to my original place even though I explained why I had done it .
I want to shop at the shop in Open All hours ! |

When reality programmes started it was startling to see how others live and a bit fascinating.
Now I think they have run there course and it is depressing to see how many people can be selfish or cruel. The biggest problem we have is a lack of consideration and some of these programs show this. Time for a change. Ali x |

I thought TV was supposed to entertain us ? Not so these days, every time you switch it on someones been murdered, stabbed, kidnapped and just so depressing. I
sometimes wonder if i'm watching 24 hour news. I think that the TV bosses need a reality check. Bring back some good quality entertainment without the
public getting involved, everyone wants their 15 mins of fame regardless.

Never watch any of them. Reality is life and vice versa, and I want TV to entertain and cheer me up not depress me. As for the ' talent ' shows I think
there a waste of time too, since people vote for their favourite and that's not always the one with the talent. It's more entertaining to watch a good
drama.

i do watch 'i am a celeb - get me out'. i think the show is good because i have a good old laugh from the things ant and dec say about the ones in the
jungle. its always in november time when i feel with winter just about here its good to have a laugh.
i also sometimes wathc kathy and pete, usually there is nothing else to watch, but to give them both credit, they do quite well on the show and yes i know, they are doing it for the money. just nice to see how the other side live. i would not want to live their life at all. i am happy as i am. what i do like to do is to read a good book and look forward to going to bed each night so i can get back into the characters i have been reading about. i sometimes get quite sad when i have finish the book because it is sometimes like saying goodbye to family. sad i know but i am not the only one. a friend of mine is just like me when it comes to books. love to all june b |

Never watched any BB, I'm a Celeb, Britains got Talent etc. But I did enjoy Maria, Joseph and Nancy and look forward to Dancing on Ice and Strictly come
Dancing. I don't really watch that much telly, it's often on as a background noise.

I don't watch any of it. I can't understand what sort of people would put themselves through all that. Ther ones that get me are the ones where people
claim to be looking to buy a house somewhere, get shown several houses never seem to buy. I think it's just a chance to say 'We've been on TV'.

Love I'm a Celebrity (mostly 'cos I like Ant & Dec), The Apprentice, Dragon's Den once in a while ........... afraid I get hooked into
Britain's Got Talent and Simon Cowell's programme, (the name of which escapes me!). Used to vote until all the scandals and fiddles came to light.
But that's about all the TV I watch, apart from the odd movie - watched the very first series of Big Brother and quite liked it but it went downhill very quickly after that - so never watch it now. What's on my TV at the moment? C&C! C xx |

As I've said in a previous thread, I'd rather clean the oven than watch BB. I love a good drama, some wildlife & the history channel. Not too keen
on sport, unless it's a final or something really important.
I think all the reality programmes have been done to death. Oh, & I do like to watch C.st, mostly excellent acting & some very good story-lines. Jan x |

I've never watched BB, oh! I lie, I switched on one evening when everyone on here was talking about it, to see Jade Goody asleep!
I'm amazed that they're not embarrassed at the way they portray themselves to the thousands that watch! I can't believe people would actually tuine
in to this sort of rubbish. The only reality shows I really like to watch are the gardening shows, and where are they? There are loads of keen ameteur
gardeners on here, let alone all over the country. I've been tuning in on all the re-runs because C&c took over on my TV for so long, I missed most of
them.
I have to confess to watching Joseph, mainly because I wanted to see Lee win, but now he's dumped his long time girlfriend for whatserface, he's gone down in my opinion too. Mind you, lovely voice, and DEFINITE eye candy!! |

I have to confess to being really sad. I watch quite a lot of TV - mostly it's on in the background when I'm doing other things, such as crafting. I
like a good film, drama etc and also the old soaps. Generally, they are mindless escapism.
I never watch BB and other programmes with minor so-called celebs, as the bits I've seen are just so depressing. I can't believe it is appropriate to give air time to young, ignorant, ill-educated, selfish, self-obsessed people. It seems to me to suggest to young viewers that in order to gain fame and fortune you only need to be an antisocial ignoramous. What a very sad message to put out. Lynn x |

Not long after I started working at Dreamworld (a theme park) we were told that the Australian Big Brother House would be built on undeveloped land behind
the park, and as it was kept quiet, the first contestents had no idea they were actually in the park. Because I worked there, I had to watch BB as everyone
would come up and ask questions, and I did enjoy the first season as the people in the house were more "real". And the surprise they had when they
found out they had lived at Dreamworld, it was great to watch (Free tickets for staff to go to evictions). I found that the following seasons were boring, and
as soon as I left Dreamworld I stopped watching. What bugged me is that what happens in the house is not always shown. In the second season there was a big
fight that happened in the house, with security having to enter the house, yet the internet connection suddenly dropped out. And as it was an eviction night,
it was decided by the producers to ignore the fight (which would have been cause for instant eviction) and pretend that nothing happened. After all those
people had paid money to evict someone, they would have had to refund them all. I know all about it as I was talking to both security and the nurse that were
called into the house. So much for reality.
