Emmerdales 'Jack Sugden' has died |

On my web homepage it says that Emmerdales Jack Sugden, the actor Clive Hornby, had died aged 63.
It seems the end of a soap era. I used to try and wangle days off school just to watch Emmerdale when it was on at lunchtimes. don't watch it much now though. |

Yes I remember when he first came in to Emerdale Farm (as it was called then) he will be sadly missed.

it said on the news that he has been written out of Emmerdale for the last three months due to ill health
so don't know what was the matter, so sorry for his family, I thought he was a lovely actor. Jen |

very sad, i heard it on the news. i knew he had left emmerdale for the next few months to have a rest because of ill health, but never once thought it was
going to lead to this.
i feel very sorry for his wife and family and of course all his friends on emmerdale. my thoughts go to all of them. love june b |

About 12 years ago I was travelling to America with my son to visit relatives and we sat next to him and his son on the plane. He was an absolute
gentleman and really good company he talked about his personal life and his life in Emmerdale. So very down to earth. When we arrived at JFK airport he got
our suitcases of the carousel and made sure that we met by our relatives before he would leave us. I for one will remember him for his kindness and feel very
sad for his family.

This is very sad news, he was really good actor in emmerdale l watched him almost since he joined emmerdale .
l like others never thought he was so ill, my thoughts are with his family and everyone who knew him. sue xxx |

It's so sad, he must be the only original one left. Will miss him, although I don't like the modern Emmerdale as much as the old one.

I dont think he was the the original 'Jack Sugden' He came in when the 1st actor left in 1976 after 4 years from the start of the show.

Very sad to hear this news. I've watched Emmerdale since I was about 6 or 7 and always liked the Sugden family. Clive Hornby always made the charachter of
Jack believeable. I shall miss him on the show.

Unfortunately he was on new oncology wing at Jimmies a couple of months ago very sad.
