Not really much more to say but like others say dont feel bad about this at all. I think Alzheimers and Dementia are just terrible not only for those who
suffer but for the family as well. I worked in a home with these patients when I lived in London and would say that the immediate family do get past these
feelings - you are after all doing what is best for your mum.
Hugs to you and all who suffer from this awful illness julie |

Oh Sandra, please don't feel bad. You've done the best you could for your mum but what you are now doing is the best for everyone in your family
including your mum. My father had Alzheimers so I do appreicate what a difficult time you've had.
Hugs to you and your family Karin xx |

Don't feel bad you have done more than many would, could and placing your parents in care is well overdue and something, if they were well, they would ask
that you do. Hugs

My aunt was in a home, my mum whos now 82 and her sister whos 78 visited her twice a week and helped out alot she was 90 when she passed away but mum said
that she was happy in her own way.Mum and Aunt still go to the home twice a week to help out, and has often said to me if I get that ill please don't think
that you have to struggle on looking after me, if the home is as nice as the one she was in then I'm happy to go.I think somethimes we feel that its our
duty to put our life on hold to look after them but I think somethimes they feel worse for as they say being a burdon. My aunt had no idea who put her in the
home so she never felt the need to blame anyone, and in her final years she was able to keep her dignity.
So try not to feel too guilty you are doing what is best Hugs Jan |

Good grief girl!! How on earth could we think badly of you after all you've done for both of your parents. Your poor mum would be mortified is she ahd any
notion of what she has been doing to you and would be asking you to put her where she can't harm you any further - physically or emotionally. She'd
also want you to care for your dad only until he needs more than you can give too.
When I was didstric nursing, I saw so many saints like you and wondered how on earth you manage for so long. I know the answer is through love, but the mum you loved has gone and you need time and space to mourn her and concentrate on the rest of your family. Big hugs, janet Ps Also sending halo polish!!! |

Sandra, No one could ever think bad of you - you have done your very best, but there does have to come a time when you have to put yourself first.

Don't feel bad about it at all Sandra. It's obvious you can't go on like this, even a cruise isn't going to sort the problem. You have done
more than anyone could ask of you. Alzeimers is an awful condition and your Mum now needs professional help so don't beat yourself up over this. You have
done the right thing, honestly. Thinking of you and sending sheenie hugs and vibes and everything else positive.

Sandra no one will think bad of you, I went thru this with my Dad for 7 years, me and mum looked after him at home so I know just what you are going thru.
Never lose sight that you are doing your best it is a terrible strain on all the family, Dad used to pull all the towels into the bath and then have a good giggle at us trying to retrieve them, many a time I got wetter than Dad did! Sending all my love to you and your mum. Wiggybear xx |

Nobody thinks badly of you Sandra. You have done so much and a lot more than most. There comes a point when you realise they will be safer in care than at home
and that's what you have to keep telling yourself. Hopefully they will find somewhere soon and you can start getting your life back.
Thinking of you at this very difficult time Hugs Jan x |
