I am so sorry. I know just how you feel and it's just the worst thing. A dog is a member of your family. nothing less. You have done the best for your dog
and not prolonged his/her suffering, a good owner knows when the time is right. Your dog will always be a part of you and in time the pain will ease and you
will have all the wonderful memories in your heart.

this was the final act of kindness for your beloved pet. You would not have wanted your long standing friend to suffer. In time you will be able to remember

my heart goe's out to you ...i had to have my walter[a bedlington terrier] put to sleep in march as he had cancer,i have never cryed so much but my friends
on the forums helped me through it ,i hope we can do the same for you...love izzy ..ps that is walter in my avater

Sorry to hear about your dog. I know how you feel as I remember when we had to do the same to our dog. she was 14 and we were lost without her. Cryed for
days afterwards.

I can so totally feel for you Ellen, and reading the posts alot of us have been there too. Have a good cry and try and get it out of your system. It will be
hard, but eventually you will come to terms with your loss.

Hi Ellen, so sorry to hear your news. I have had to do the same a few years ago. My dog was 16 and very much part of the family. It's heartbreaking I know.
It is probably the most difficult decision we ever have to make but we can't let them suffer when we can't help them anymore. Remember it is the last
act of love you can show. You are suffering (wish I could ease your pain) but your dear dog isn't anymore. Sending you hugs. Chrissie x
