It makes me wonder if my granddaughter's school is trying to scare the poor mites out of their wits
. Natalie is 5 and in reception class. Recently they visited Hexham gaol. The oldest in England
with all the touristy staging of ancient and horrible practices
.
To make matters worse (and the school wouldn't have forseen this) was a life size dummy hanging by the neck off Newcastle Bridge. It was some protest by a
father who couldn't see his kids...I'm not surprised he could'nt see them, doing tricks like that! Natalie was quite distressed by it. Today she
went to Alnwick Castle but again had to suffer the grizzly touristy bit in the dungeons
. When we asked her if she enjoyed her trip, she said "not really", poor thing.
