Posts: 550 (10/07/2008 17:50:25) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None For reasons best known to them selves Microsoft have done an auto update that has upset any one using Zone Alarm and kicking them off the internet! Im one of many innocent victims! I only knew about this when I rang Virgin my ISP! Had to switch Zone alarm off and Whoopeee it worked. Apparently I can switch Zone Alarm on again in an hour and it should be OK! Im scared to try! Anyone else had this prob!? Margaret xx

The told her jus to turn zone alarm off. I told her that I didn't think that was right so she phone orange back. There was a recorded message to say Set the Internet zone security to medium She has done this and it now works. Hope it works for you I did read on a broadband forum that zonealarm have release a fix and you have to download a new version of zone alarm, reinstall and reboot. Not tried it so cant say it is works. Sarah xxx

In the end I just gave up. Tried again this morning still the same, so I did a System Restore and after that it worked ok. Barbara x

I installed the security update as my computer said I needed it, then couldn't get online. I tried again this morning before work, still no luck. When I came home tonight I decided it must have something to do with the update and took it off, then got online and googled the details and found that it was a zonealarm conflict. Thouigh it was sorted out, went to have tea, came back to my computer to find that the update had been reinstalled, the computer had done it itself!!! So I've taken it off again. Grrrrrrrrrr!! Posts: 1912 (10/07/2008 22:14:30) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I had this problem with an earlier update that conflicted with Zone Alarm. think Microsoft do it deliberately so that you use their firewall instead. Always used ZA and much prefer it to Windows firewall. Either download and install ZA fix or switch off ZA and switch on Windows firewall but please don't go online without a firewall. Lynn xx

Posts: 119 (11/07/2008 09:41:22) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Yes i had the same problem i was told to turn off zone alarm remove the update reboot and Zone alarm was on and working.The automatic update put it on my computer again i just removed it and turned off auto updates.I am glad zone alarm have come up with a solution i have not decided which one to do yet.My thoughts are if it is set at Med will it be as secure.
