I am a "maybe" person. I am not into the television haunted programmes because who says it is actually happening, this can be rigged. But, after reading all your posts of experiences, I do think that there a forces at work. I do like to think that there is someone looking down on me just to make sure me and mine are safe.

The house had been used by Cavaliers during the Civil War and there was a tunnel from the house to the church. The house was older - with 13th century bits. I did wake up one night and see an apparition at the foot of the bed! Really scared me so didn't stay there overnight again. I do 'sense' things when entering houses I've never been to (particularly old houses) so maybe I am sensitive to the paranormal - who knows! Jan

A few things have happened to my eldest daughter and like craftycol I had an unsettling experience with an ouija board, relating to my sister who died when she was 11 and I was 9. I hadn't even met her properly because she was brain damaged at birth and was in one of those awful institutions that were the norm fifty years ago. The staff stopped Mum taking me when I was little and then stopped Mum and Dad going because as far as they were concered Shirley didn't know they were there anyway. Mum even heard one of the nurses refer to her as 'the mother of the idiot child'. After the experience with the ouija board, which I pulled out of, I often wonder - what if................ attitudes back then were like they are today, was she brain damaged or was it something else that could not have been diagnosed back then Beryl x

When my youngest daughter was 16 for mothersday she brought me a beautiful frame and in it she had put martins photo so i place this on the tv. i was drawn to the photo and would spend ages just looking at him now i never told anyone about the photo and how i felt. but a month went by and one day my mum rang we was talking and she said i had a funny dream last night she said it was strange i dont know if i should tell you she said in her dream she had been to a show with dad and they were just getting into the car when a young man stopped her and said look you dont know me but i am your grandson martin would you tell mum i am fine and happy and not to worry, tell her to put the photo away at that time if martin had lived he would have been 19 yrs old

Different things have happened to me over the years, but were they coincidences, imagination going wild, I don't know. Although I can sometimes sense things but it's just that natural, because of the person these things are happening to is very close? I think I am one of those who needs proof. Adele x

Here are a few examples: I have had warning messages - but not realised at time. In my twenties, was going on holiday and was quite worried, as I told my dad I couldn't remember the route. On the Thursday before the holiday - the half-shaft went on my car - as soon as it was in the garage being fixed - I could see all the towns and villages quite clearly on the route! another time (and Dawnywol will confirm this) we were on holiday on Isle of Wight - and returning to where we were staying - I didn't want to go the way OH decided across country, saying I wanted to go the coast road - we went across country had an accident at a crossroads and wrote the car off! I always know when my children are having a rough time or are worrying and having trouble sleeping as I cannot sleep either!. My brother appeared just above my shoulder not long after he died, and OH watched me talking to him. I am a keen genealogist and have often come up against a brickwall - when suddenly I seem to be pointed in right direction and find the info I am looking for. Sometimes I have been looking for someone for ages and suddenly the info I want just appears. My grandfather was a 7th child of a 7th child, which is supposed to mean you have some sort of "insight", so maybe there is just a tad left in my genes. Mags

Posts: 139 (15/07/2008 15:34:25) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	yes a definate believer. to many to mention all of them but heres a few. i never met my grandfather as he died before i was born but i used to see him in my bedroom, he would turn on the tap in my bedroom until i told him that i needed to go to sleep. my great uncle who died in world war 1 aged 17 is always playing tricks on the family, my mum lost her lighter and my brother found it on his work bench 3 weeks later, my mums kitchen knife appeared in the middle of my eldest son bedroom floor. my husband has been told that his guardian angel, is an native america indian chief, this is one of the highest protectors you can have. the list goes on i could write a book about it. dawn Last Edited By: aurora16 15/07/2008 15:38:35. Posts: 2829 (15/07/2008 15:44:15) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Yes i do...when my dad was alive if ever anything was troubling me he would put his hand on my right shoulder and tell me things would be ok when i had problems with my ex hubby After i left my ex hubby we moved into a flat..wiht in 2 nights i felt a hand on my right shoulder..my dad this happened several times he was still looking after me After i met Colin 5 yrs later. he came to me once .i never felt my dad being there again..that was because dad know i was settled happy and no harm would come to me again Wendy xx

I won't go into details but I lived in a 'haunted' house for quite some time and they were friendly spirits. I got over my fear of the dark living there so that was one benefit at least. Beryl xx

I have had "dream" conversations with my gran after she died and I have also received healing from Archangel Raphael. I suffered really badly with asthma which made day to day life difficult at the time and after praying for some relief just as I went to sleep I dreamt that I was walking in a dark, large temple kind of building. I remember having the sense of searching for someone and feeling hands on my shoulders deeply massaging between my shoulder blades. I could still feel this when I woke up - but I didnt have to use any inhalers at all for over 2 years after that! I've been part of a number of home circles where we have asked for contact with spirit - once we tried table tipping. I was quite sceptical about it but I tested the table for myself - there was no way it could have been tipped just by someone using their hands flat on the table. The tipping was quite slow and deliberate - there was no mistaking it. Lots of other things have happened but couldnt list them all. I just know that there is a spirit world looking over us, wanting to let us know that they are there and that they are watching out for us. Julie x

One of his favourites are my undies, I have found a brand new bra, never worn or out of the box, on the washing line - it was white and the only washing I had done that day was a dark wash! Just recently we had our granddaughter to stay for the night and I took the small valise which I keep her nappy changing things in and put it by the cot. The next moring we hunted high and low for it but couldn't locate it. Luckily my daughter turned up with her nappy bag so we could change the little darling. Well, this happened the weekend before we were going away on holiday and my OH keeps his shoes in big boxes under our bed. We had taken the boxes out and decided which shoes he wanted to take and put both the boxes back under the bed. On our return from France he went to pull the boxes out to put them away again but couldn't - something was in front of them. Guess what, yep dead right!! - Amelias changing kit was in front of the boxes. There is no way that could have happened without FIL having a play!!! My daughter swears blind she saw him sat at the bottom of her bed one night when she was upset about something!! He was very caring in life and he is still minding his little princess even now!!! I am also a firm believer in guardian angels too!!! Nina x

Posts: 2943 (15/07/2008 17:06:37) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	i do yes, quite often i hear footsteps on my stairs when everyone is in bed , one night i was sitting watching tv and i heard someone coming downstairs and i looked at the door expecting it to open but there was no one there, then a few times i lie in bed and i hear someone walking downstairs and think its my son going down and i lie waiting to hear the living room door open but it never does, he said he thought it was me going down, it used to happen frequently, but i havnt heard anything for a few months now

I had been sitting on the lawn making daisy chains in the walled garden when I came indoors I had to go through the lounge and there was a man standing in the middle of the room he was wearing a tweed suit (plus 4's) and a deerstalker hat the sort of thing a wealthy gent might have worn to go on a shoot in times gone by. When I asked my grandmother who he was she just asked if he had scared me I said no and nothing more was said, when I got older I realised what a peculiar thing she had when I asked her about it years later she said he often used to suddenly appear and disappear but he never made her or my grandfather feel afraid or even uncomfortable. The other time was after my youngest brother died, I adored him, I dreamt that he came to me and I so wanted to go with him I awoke when my youngest daughter cried out (she was less than 6 months old at the time) to see the shadow of a man across the bedroom wall. I split with ex in 1992 and met Del in 1994. I was upstairs getting ready to go out on one of our first dates and on leaving the bedroom, there was dad standing leaning against the wall - looked like he was in his 40's -50's, wearing one of his favourite check shirts................. smiled at me and disappeared. Never happened before or since. I felt at the time he was just checking that I was okay and pleased that I had found happiness again. Also there have been times when I have been doing something - re-papering my bedroom was one occasion. Couldn't get the piece of paper to hang properly as it was round the light-switch, door frame and behind the radiator - real pig to get right. After the THIRD try went wrong - I was so peed off I asked out loud for Dad to give me a hand.......... next piece went up sweet as a nut. Imagination? Wishful thinking? Or was he really there and did he help me? Don't know. C xx

Now I know it was TV and can be faked, but I'm more open minded now. Also, after my dog died, I could feel her jump o the bed and curl up by my feet for some time after she died -not every night but perhaps a couple of times a week -often when I was having a tough time or missing her most. I certainly wouldn't say there is nothing 'out there'. Janet

We lived in a fairly big house it was double fronted with a hallway in the middle, the house had three upper floors and six bedrooms. Before my mum got married she used to llive there and although I can't confirm this she told us that they used to use the kitchen which was at the back of the house and they would hear the front door open and footsteps down the hall which would stop at the kitchen door, the dog would get up and wag her tail but no-one ever came in. When we went to live there we never spoke about ghosts or anything like that to do with the house but in later years we found out that everyone one of us had felt the same thing, we never saw anything but there was an awful feeling outside my bedroom which was on the first landing. My nan had a bedsitting room on the second landing and no-one ever wanted to go and see her because we had to pass the door on the first landing. When I was 18 my nan had a fall down the stairs and hit her head on the wall outside my bedroom door. She was in hospital for a while and died there, she never recovered from the fall. After that I never felt that presence again, I believe that it was someone who had come for my nan. Seems a bit fanciful even to me but don't know of any other explanation. I won't go on but other things have happened since my inlaws and my dad have died, I am a true beliver. Jenny x

My dad came to me infront of a huge audience, through Colin Fry. Dad was a very quiet man and the message was that he was with 8 people around him, that was all his brothers and my gran and grandad, his message was that he couldn't believe the amount of people at the show. He said to take care of Mum and that I was right to believe after all. Colin then said that Jack, my Dad, was very weak now and needed time to restore. Dad had only died 10 days before that!!!! Dad died 3 years ago and I have had a very difficult time sorting out his will as he was left some bits in a will of a relative 6 months before his own death. It was very complicated and at times I just wanted to give up. At times too I questioned whether I was doing the right thing. However last year dad came to me again to tell me that I had done the right thing and to be pleased that I had completed it all. That was through a medium called Tony Stockwell. A few years ago I was fortunate enough to be invited to the recording of a show for TV with Colin Fry. they have showed it on living TV many times and again it was just amazing what he came up with. Amongst other things I had just had the extension built and my friend who came with me came into see it before we went down there. I had said to her that I wasn't sure whether to knock out one of the windows or leave it in place. Colin said as his parting shot to my reading, "and by the way leave the window where it is!!!!!!!!!!! " There have been many other incidents to make me a firm believer and I know Dad is here with us all the time encouraging and supporting just as he always did when he was alive. One other thing was that I had always believed my Grandad on my Dads side to be called John. I kept being told that my gaurdian was William and I couldn't understand who it could be. When I told my dad he said - oh well that would be my father, his name was William John but we called him John! Sorry thats not a very quick reply but I am a believer and just love to hear of others who have had experiences too.
