My grandmother told me that she was related through a cousins marriage to Anthony Armstrong Jones (Lord Snowdon). I think it was quite distant but close enough
to please my gran.

my family comes from Yorkshire originally and my great great (not sure how many greats) grandfather John Woodger, invented the commercial kipper - it's
even a Trivial Pursuit question ..... fish have been smoked since the beginning of time but he actually turned it into a *product* I believe
ok ok - weak I know but if I can't pull a relative like George Clooney out of the bag hey at least I can have kippers lololol .... my daughter was at school with Danni Harrison - George Harrison's son for a couple of years .. pah run out of anyone else lol |

My second cousin, Niamh, is married to Michael Flatley, but I have never met either of them, although obviously I have met her mom, my first cousin. Most of
my relations live in Ireland so we only see each other occasionally.

My OH is a distant cousin to David Templeman-Adams, the explorer. My only claim to a famous relative is a cousin who was a nude model for Parade magazine back
in the 60's which was a fore-runner of the nudie mags of nowadays. lol
My brother did provide all the weaponry for most of the Bond films, the first Star Wars and several other famous films, does that count? lol Nina x |

My great great great grandfather was JOSEPH HANSOM who designed the Hansom Cab ( featured on Joanna's ' Victorian Companions' CD ! ) and a notable
architect. Especially churches and cathedrals.
One of his grand daughters, Mary Josephine went on to have my grandfather Ivan Louis. Clive's family were reputed to be descended from DAVID LIVINGSTONE'S sister JANET. However, my increasing expertise in genealogy has sadly disproved that !! It appears to be the WRONG Janet Livingstone. Best wishes Sonia |

All rather tenuous links to fame.
My cousin married the cousin of Andrew Morton (who wrote the Diana books). We were chief bridesmaid and groomsman at the wedding. My god-daughter makes the props for lots of films. But my most favourite claim to fame is (not sure if this counts)................ My Shed (which I gave to my uncle), featured in a TV series starring Bernard Cribbins. Sheila W. |

I'm not sure if its true or not but someone in my mothers family was tracing our family tree and says we are descendents of Martin Luther who translated
the bible (not to be confused with Martin Luther King lol)
I'm also told we are related to Captain Kirby who has a memorial garden in a big park in Whitby. Not sure what he did though
My only other claim to fame was being the first woman to do the Wonder Wall on the Winning Lines lottery show and getting to push the button for the lottery draw. Julie x |

Fourteen years ago, I made a documentary with the BBC on fear of the dentist. It was called Doc Martin's Casebook and although it was on for half an hour,
it took nearly three months to film as all the crew had to keep comming down from London. The producer would phone up the day before and ask if it was okay to
shoot another scene the next day. My dentist put my name forward without me knowing and I was chosen out of over 500 people from all over the country. I had
to be hypnotised (sp) by the dentist several times and it was a bit daunting at first but got used to the cameras. One scene was all my children cleaning their
teeth but the camera and sound crew couldn't all fit in my bathroom, so a quick phone call to a friend and we all filmed that scene in her bathroom. They
also wanted to film hubby doing his Karate at the club, so they ended up taking everyone to the pub after, drank too much and all the crew had to stay at the
local hotel. There was another scene shot on a local bus, which took nearly a whole morning. Yet another one we took over the bar of a local pub and had to sit
at a table with friends and talk about dentists amongst other things. We were there all evening and no one had to buy a drink. I was treated like royalty by
the whole crew, they were just fantastic and with the money I got paid for doing it, we had our very first holiday ever in a hotel with the four children. The
night it was shown on air, I had the biggest bouquet of flowers sent to me that I've ever seen.
Well thats my claim to fame folks
