I'm supposed to be related to Grace Darling on my mother's side of the family. (The 22 year old girl who went out on the lifeboat with her father to
rescue men from the stricken boat the Forfarshire.) I have never researched that side so have no idea if it is true. However, I do know that my cousins were
told the same by their parents so it must have been accepted in the family.

My OH Paul can trace his family back to Napolean, but we are not sure if it was the famous little man or not.

Nothing on my side that I know of but OH's great grand-parents (don't know how many greats) on his Mum's side go back to Mr Bowyer of Bowyers
sausages and J M Barrie who wrote Peter Pan. His Mum's maiden name was Barrie so must be on her Dad's side.

That sounded like fun, Butterfly. My great grandfather was speechwriter for the candidate who ousted Winston Churchill as MP for Dundee. My uncle had photos from the early labour party days but I don't know what happened to them. There was a picture of him sitting with Lady Astor (?) an early women MP, on his knee. She is wearing his hat and he is wearing hers! Alison |

No one famous that I know of in our family. I did make all the national papers on my wedding day when my Dad threw my dress out the week before the wedding.

Glitzzy wrote: He was throwing out a bed upon which I had put the box containing the dress, he didn't look inside the box and I didn't know he was throwing the
bed out. Next night I went to sew some ribbons onto the dress and discovered it was missing - at which point all hell broke loose |

Well I don't know if it counts, but my several time great grandfather introduced the shotgun into Cornwall (where he made guns from horseshoe nails) and
his wife was also a crack shot, beating all comers, including men, in a shooting contest!
My great uncle was a Salvation Army officer (most of that part of the family were!) and was one of General Booth's drivers (Founder of the Salvation army) More up to date, my brother tried his hand at acting for a few years, in Australia, and had parts in Neighbours and Home and Away, and other shows not seen in the UK. My niece went to High school with Sally, who acted in Home and Away (I think she has recently left). My niece was Head Girl and Sally was her deputy!! That's the best I can do, except that I nursed Sandy Shaw when she had her baby, Grace in 1970 or 71!! Janet |

Afraid I'm not related to anybody famous, ( maybe infamous!! ) but my son has been in"Heartbeat" a few times and "Kavanagh Q.C." and
was in the film "Little Voice". I also know Ben James-Ellis who is in "Hairspray" with Michael Ball!
