Got home this evening to 2 letters from British Gas. One addressed to me personally, the other to the occupier at my address.....I opened 'mine'
first..... an electricity bill - oh but not just any bill, a final bill. They're closing my account it says as they've been notified by
someone else that they now live at my address - and have done since January 4th! So I open the other one (remember addressed to 'the occupier') to
find a first electricity bill - so this person who told them they've moved into my flat has no name?!?!?!?!
So I rang them - 25 minutes later I got to speak to someone. She agreed it was a bit odd, especially as I've paid 2 bills since January - why would I do
that if I don't live here? She eventually decided it was an error and had happened because I had my gas meter removed in January they've closed my
electricity account as well. Errrr but they were effiicient in issuing a final gas bill in January, but it took them nearly 7 months for the electric to
'catch up'?????
Odd or what?
She's sorting me out - but it makes me wonder what will happen when they come to replace my existing meter next week with a new one! I didn't ask them
to of course, it's the regulations that it's time is up and needs replacing! Ho hum.
