I love the images ... different to the CDs I've already got ... they're basically line drawings teamed up with pretty background papers. I spent ages choosing and finally went for the Blooming Doodles which has arrived today and I love it but me being me I hadn't thought it through and I've ended up with two questions ... Firstly ... foolishly I hadn't thought about the fact that printer ink would run when I tried to colour the images. Pink Petticoat has a blog which says that they use a light spray of matt Ghiant Inkjet Fixer ... fantastic ... problem solved ... except I've had a look and everywhere that sells it charges an arm and a leg for delivery. Does anyone use it? I don't mind paying the delivery charge if it's worth it but don't want to pay out for something that doesn't work. Alternatively can anyone suggest a budget alternative please? Secondly ... can you convert a .tif file in to a .jpeg file so that you can resize an image or crop one image out of a page to save wasting ink printing a whole sheet. Thanks for your help ladies x

Posts: 6792 (24/07/2008 15:32:30) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I use Irfanview and am as sure as I can be from memory that you can save a .tif file as a .jpeg using that particular free viewer. To save ink and paper you could always copy and paste individual images into a word processor document and print from that. As regards the ink running, yes it's a nightmare, I agree and have also been put off trying the Ghiant fixative due to cost in case it doesn't work for me. There do not appear to be any budget alternatives I have tried using hairspray but to be hones only once and as I didn't overwet the image it may not actually have had any effect. If you do find anything else please let me know!

I've had a dabble and managed to save the pages as .jpeg using Adobe which is fab as it means I can resize and just print the ones I want. I probably will go for the Ghiant fixer as I want to be able to get the best out of the CD so I certainly will let you know if it works properly. In the mean time you never know one of the ladies on here might have just the thing to solve the problem and save us a bit of money too (all the more to spend on the next crafting "must have" )

FREE P&P. Just shows I should always remember to check using MSN and not just Google. Apparently the spray will be despatched tomorrow so I'll post on whether it works or not. Once I know that the web shop is reliable I'll be happy to pass their URL on too ... would hate to say who they are now only to have problems with the order

June

You would need to do "flatten images" first to be able to colour in. Then you ca convert them to jpeg files or any other like pdf, bmp etc.

I have most of her stuff except the more recent images as they are not really me. dawn

I have Photoshop but wouldn't have a clue how to colour them in unless it is with the brushes? in which case I would be hopeless....going outside the outline etc!

I don't know how to use Adobe to do things like that as I use Fireworks usually but I'm sure mum knows how to do this. Silly me ... should have thought ... thanks for nudging me in the right direction
