Don't get me wrong, I LOVE shopping on the internet because the choice is so vast (thanks to Joanna and the other wonderful retailers), but I have to
admit that there is something extra special about being able to physically browse through products and take away a huge bag of goodies.
Am I the only one who feels like that?
We have a few shops around us (Wiltshire), but nothing particularly exciting. Maybe that's just as well though, as that means I'm limited to the NEC
twice a year and I'm not spending every month's wages on the latest products! 
(Except when I go mad on Joanna's site).

Oh I don't know as I went to our two local shops in Skipton and spent ...............................................................
Absolutly nothing ....so dissappointed.......................I hadn't been for months and was really looking forward to having a browse and I didn't find a thing. So I don't think I'll waste the time and petrol again for quite some time . I'll stick to the net. oldbee |

I love both - I do a ridiculous amount of shopping on the net (ehem shouldn't admit that) but then when I am let loose in a real life shop I get twice as
carried away - with paper nothing beats seeing it - with book shopping I love love rading the back of the cover and looking at the picture on the cover - but
still I spend more money in Amazon than my local book shop
I think part of the problem is that as I work long hours the shops are usually closed when I am free to shop and also I have a limited choice around here to visit ..... ad I do think the more used you get to the internet the more you use it - I always turn to Google first before i do anything else when I want a good price for something we need to buy so the habit reinforces itself and now I rarely go shopping out of the house except on holiday - hmm maybe I should get out more lol |

I am a bit like oldbee, most of my recent trips to craft shops have resulted in dissapointment - they don't have what I am looking for, always seems such a
waste of time and petrol.
I do love handling papers etc. in the shops but find that I get a much better choice and often price on line Kate x |

I'm with you Joanna. I love internet shopping too, and I'm sure it's because I'm so busy I don't have the time to go out and enjoy the real
shopping. When I go on holiday I love to browse in shops - and buy of couse - but the rest of the time the internet is just great. My OH laughs at me as
whenever I have been away on business a lot of parcels arrive back home - well, at least he knows that I'm not sitting in the bar with strange men - but on
my own in my hotel room doing my craft shopping!! !: lol Winnie xx

Yes, I know what you mean about the choice in shops, and that's why most of my purchases are on-line. The prices are normally better, delivery is usually
good (excellent in Joanna's case) and I've come across lots of things I would never have found unless I'd been surfing.
I still do like the thrill of the shop though! Even though the last time I went to one of my local shops, the owner followed me around as I browsed. I don't think he thought I looked like a crafter, but you should never judge a book by it's cover and he lost out on some trade as it annoyed me  .

I also find the choice in local shops dissapointing, both the larger ones and the independants, but I think the choice we have at our fingertips on the net
spoils us, and I cant bear trudging around looking for whatever it is I'm needing.......... like you Joanna, I just google it in & see what comes up.!

With the exception of the food shopping (hubby won't pay for delivery and is happy to go and do it himself) I do the vast majority of my shopping over
t'internet.
It started because I was quite ill and couldn't manage to go out shopping but now faced with driving to town, finding a parking space, paying a HUGE parking fee which doesn't guarentee your car will be still there when you get back, trailing up and down between shops and then not finding what I want I prefer to shop from home. I'm lucky as I run my business from home so I'm always in when the parcels arrive but I suppose internet shopping isn't convenient for every one ... if I was still working in the civil service I'd already be in the town and so nipping out at lunch time might be an option. That said I did begrudge spending my dinner break in a queue. My internet shopping experiences have also helped me to shape my own business. I've only made a couple of mistakes buying on line (both crafting goodies needless to say) ... you live and learn

I dont live anywhere near any local shops so i love internet shopping...its the waiting (ok some are here next day!) on the pacels arrive...love it!!
mind you..when i do get near big shops i run amock too!! |

We don't have many good shops near us either, and the only craft one can't stock everything. I spend a lot of time browsing the internet for things. I
don't drive, so having things delivered is great. Touch wood I haven't had many disasters!

I like both - I love internet shopping and the thrill of parcels arriving (even if my husband keeps asking what Haven you been buying now?!) but I also love
craft shops and going to craft shows when I get the chance. As I don't drive, it is easier for me to buy over the net, then have a special treat of a
visit to a craft shop or show when possible
 . I love the atmosphere of
the big craft shows and meeting other people , though the older I get,
the less I like the crowds!

i am teased all the time at work. ever since i have had SKY, and found create and craft and QVC, I do not go the shops every often. if i have to go, i just go
in and go and get what i want and come straight home. i have to say i buy all my bedding, coats, shoes, beauty items, a few crafts and many household things
from QVC. i use to love shopping and now i hate it. i just want to be at home.
now i am on the internet, i just buy my craft things from a few favourite sites and they are from people i have seen on create and craft. we do have a few craft shops around and i do go in now and again to have a look. there is still one place i have not been yet and keep saying i must go and see it. love june AND i received a parcel today......................................................................... |

Sometimes shops can be a real let down. However, I went to my local craft shop yesterday and got some ink pads I wanted and they were cheaper than buying
online which was surprising. I find things are often cheaper online or you get more choice. But I do love to browse and get the feel of things. Sometimes I
made a decision in a shop about a certain brand or colour and then come home to order online and save money or get the ones in the range they don't stock.
Best part about going to the shop was having a long chat with a fellow crafter. Jan |

I prefer craft shopping in person and treat it as an outing. I always try to support the local (50 mile radius
 ) shops even if it's slightly dearer but there's not an awful lot of choice
in the southwest unless you like docrafts/trim crafts & the same old stuff in most shops. If I cant get it locally I try to wait for a show but will use
the net for my cant wait/cant get purchases.
Now if we're talking getting the household shopping I'd rather spend 5 minutes at asda online just clicking the stuff I normally buy than spending an hour+ driving to the local branch, fighting with a trolley & all the other shoppers then struggling to get a load of heavy bags in & out of the car. |

I try to buy routine stuff like glue,foam pads and the docraft bits I like from local craft shops but they can't compete with the internet with its choice
for cds, cricut things, cuttlebug folders etc etc. As for food I would miss going to the local superstore and am grateful I can! I like to pick out the exact
bananas, cuts of meat etc and so often I pick up useful sell-by-date reductions. I go early in the morning and the only problem is the flipping trolleys doing
the internet shopping!!! I like browsing round the shops but appreciate that I am lucky to be able to do it and to be able to choose the time that suits me.

I have to admit that I like both. I buy quite a lot on line but there is nothing like walking into a shop/show and them having exactly what you want and being
able to walk away with it. I also look forward to receiving a knock at the door and on opening it finding a delivery man standing there with my order. Joanna
is great, super fast delivery but some firms just take the mickey and is takes forever to receive your goods. They are fast enough to charge your credit card
though.

Before I say anything else I have to own up to having a brilliant craftshop close by. It is like an Aladdin's Cave and it has
rooms which open off each other so that when you think you have seen the whole shop you then come upon a bit more (ask Jacqui
Q). The only thing they don't seem to sell is CDs - but then it is a while since I was in there for a good browse so you never know! I try to use them
as often as I can because if we don't use local craft shops they will disappear, and good as Joanna's site is (and others) she is not going to be able
to deliver at the moment you discover that you have run out of something essential just as you have a rush order, or a birthday today which
you forgot. Joanna gives good service but is still working on miracles!

you lucky thing dawn, where is this fab craft store? we only have one tiny shop six miles away so all craft buys are from the 'net. hate food shopping but
go simply so we don't starve lol. but i do that locally from supermarket and market stalls.
