How exciting!!!! You must tell me how the experiment went on!!!
Is the metallic paint acrylic paint? My experience of acrylic paint is that if you put it on fairly thick on chipboard and then heat it with your heat gun, the paint begin to fizz and , and
you get a very bubbly and interesting surface. I did that with metallic acrylic paint. But it didnt crack. I have never tried it on shrink plastic though.
Please tell me what happened!!! Evaxx |

Linda, I think I might be tempted to water the paint down and use it very thin on shrink plastic, if you use it neat it may crack or peel off because it
won't shrink with the plastic.
I will be interested to hear how you get on. Have been looking at those paints in Tesco but convinced myself that I didn't need them!! Kate x |

I got metalic craft paints, gol, silver and bronze at tesco's which are water based and they works fine as long as I let it dry first . I heat it slowely
too. Try it on a small piece first. At least you won't have ruined a nice piece of work, thats what I do. Good luck.

Linda, read this thread this morning, then your update, sorry it didn't work.
But you made me have a go as well. I didn't use paints, but I used that Krylon Gold leaf pen, on shrink plastic. Then I looked on the pen and it said about being flammable so off I went into the kitchen, with my heat gun, put the shrink on a mat on the draining board, put the plug in and some water in the sink, just in case I had to abandon ship! then did it and its come out lovely , a bit like goldy suede. It didn't blow up ! But then again I suppose it could have done. So then printed off some white flowers with pearls around them.A topper. Well like a nit I did that on white linen card. Hardly anything showed up. So got the few pearly doodles out but its been so long since I used them the white pearly one is a bit thick ! I suppose its cos its living with me ! So I have also got black, silver and gold aqua glass relief outline doodas, and I outlined the flowere then used a thin embossing tool to bring the paint in and that looks quite good too. See and thats all because of what you wrote this morning. Thank you for giving me a lovely play day. Jen |
