Sad news about the swaps forum

Posts: 1835 (31/07/2008 20:37:39) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I have used the 'swaps' board on several occasions have been very lucky with the people I have swapped with, I did swap a GENUINE CD OF JOANNA'S but only because it wasn't to my particular taste and never for a moment dreamt of making a copy, I wasn't even aware that a copy could be made. I support you Joanna & Richard 100% and regret that some people on the forum have forced you to make this decision. I am sure that true sheenies will back you on this matter. Christine

Sending her hugs, and hopes this does not stress her out too much! I have used the swaps section, and have swapped stamps and card etc for other stamps. I have always had a positive experience and have met some lovely sheenies through the swaps. Its a shame that the actions of the odd naughty person has caused the swaps to end, but I can understand how Joanna must feel, and support her decision . Its still the best forum! Hugs to all, Tee x

I didn't copy the CD I sent (not one of Joanna's) and I'm sure the person who sent to me didn't copy hers either. I'm not even sure how to go about making a copy. I'm not known for my computer skills!! I hope I'm not counted as one of the ones who has upset Joanna - I wouldn't for the world. Janet

I sell Joannas CD's in my shop and someone had the cheek to ask me if I sold cheaper copies. It wasn't a regular customer needless to say and I didn't even bother giving a proper answer, just a raised eyebrow (which I think was sufficient!!!) I know only too well from personal experience what it is like when your work gets stolen or copied without your permission so I am behind you all the way Joanna. As an aside - did they think they wouldn't get found out?. Meryle

I am another Sheenie who has never used the swop forum. I am more than happy to save for all Joanna` cd`s and anything else sold at Sheenie Towers, and use it with the love and respect that Joanna deserves. Im with you all the way on this Joanna. Only just started using CD's so am a novice with computer art. It would appear no matter how difficult it is to come up with a new idea and market it, there will always be some fraudster out there to take advantage. So sorry to hear this has been happening to you Joanna, especially on your forum which offers so much, not only in crafting but genuine friendship that I'm surprised, like Paula and others, that the culprits have not been banned from the forum.......I know I would if my efforts were being scammed like that. There are so many illegal copies available these days that I suspect a lot of people accept this as the norm and have chosen to forget it is a crime. Anyone buying copies is just as guilty as the seller and should also be penalised. It saddens me to believe anyone could be so dishonest to cause so much damage anybody's livelihood this way. EuniceX

I am as mad as heck when I think of all the hard work done by yourself and your team being used in such a way. Its sad that you have had to shut it down but I don't blame you Joanna. Those who use it in the correct way are the losers of course but that's how it has to be. The others will just shrug their shoulders and move on and good riddance to them. cassie

You really weren't left with any choice apart from closing down that section. I have to admit not visiting that section since the last grab bags of stamps, that was tremendous fun swapping any duplicates. I would also agree with Paula's sentiments, but know that goes against the grain with you. Hopefully whoever has done this won't have the gall to return. I hope that the person/people concerned are thoughly ashamed of themselves & leave this forum, genuine Sheenies would not want them here, why are there always scumbags around who spoil things for others? I agree whole heartedly with Joanne, Richard and their team that closing the swap forum is the only solution. What has happen is nothing less than (I'm not sure of the right word here) theft/fraud. Joanne, Richard and the Team work incredibly hard to bring us such wonderful products. I hope the person / people responsible are thoroughly ashamed of them-self / themselves.

It makes me so mad when this happens and Joanna is sooo justified in posting this thread. I have only used the swaps once and that was just for some xmas crafty bits (backing paper etc.) I hope the ones who did the copying are now feeling ashamed. Hugs Trisha

Being quite new to this board, I did not even realise there was a swaps forum. What occurs to me, is that the people trying to swap copies on the board of the person who owns the copyright are incredibly stupid. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound. I have to admit to being totally hooked on Joanna's CD's. After buying several off C&C , I now prefer to deal with Joanne direct. I saw the Heavenly Cards on C&C, ordered them from Joanne, and received them yesterday free P&P It is very sad that the swaps forum had to be sacrificed, but really I dont think that Joanne had any other choice
