whilst visiting a large pet shop today for some rabbit and cat supplys. i came across a cat toilet training system. basically you attach it to your toilet to
train your kitty to use the normal toilet. it has middle sections which you remove the more your cat gets used to the toilet so that they eventually just jump
onto the toilet. here is a link to what im talking about

Saw that on gadget show the presenter didn't have any success training her cat.Besides call me old fashioned but the throne is strictly for the humans in
the household!!

No way, its bad enough that he insists on drinking from the sink tap. He will only drink running water and stands on the rim yowling until one of us gives in
and turns the tap on!

Would you really want the cat's dirty paws (you don't know where she's just been Ali xx |

It's not the paws I would worry about!! The whole idea is very unhygienic .As my mother used to say `some people have more money than sense`.

I would be worried about the cat falling in! When my old cat Bagpuss got to the stage of decrepitude where she couldn't always get outside in time, she
always used to go on the toilet floor, so I suppose she had the right sort of idea, bless her! She had had an accident sometime in her past (she was a stray)
that had left her sort of disconnected in the middle - her back legs weren't always going in the same direction as the front
and I think possibly this contributed to her continence problems - she still
bossed the dogs about and I still miss her.

One of my cats insisted on drinking from anywhere except his water bowl. I caught him many times head first in the loo drinking. (clean water I might add) I
was so afraid he would slip, get his head stuck and drown, that I had to instill in hubby to not only to put the seat down, but also the lid. I certainly would
not want my cats to use my toilet. They had a perfectly good litter tray.

Wish mine would. It would save me lots of money on cat litter , and time in the daily cleaning of the litter.

I understood that you shouldn't put cat or dog poo down the toilet as the filtering sytems, etc that are used from al the human waste doesn't take out
all the bad stuff in animal poo and it eventually deposits all the bad bits into the sea or wherever it does............ my Vet said you should always bag it
and throw it in the household rubbish.
Maybe things have changed now? C xx |
