My Crafting Space |

I'm sure this has been asked before but where do you craft? Do you have a special area dedicated to crafting? Unfortunately I'm not that lucky but
please look here at my space. Where do you think it is? I have far too much stuff,
my husband says I need wembly stadium not an extension. Boxes are dotted all around the house, sheds and at my parents house.

I havent got a craft space yet either Gail although there is a space in he outhouse that I could convert. My only concern is it is very cold in the winter and
it is also no in the house so if OH is out, I couldn't go there and leave hte boys in the house.
Will have to stop at the dinning room table for now. Sarah xxx |

My OH thought I had a lot of stuff................. until he saw all your boxes!
I'm lucky enough to have a spare bedroom so it's my library/craft room/computer room with a single bed in for visitors when we have any. All my crafty stuff is either in my desk or stacked in and on a book shelf and I have a few A4 storage boxes where I keep some kits and stuff like all oriental papers, etc. But then I don't have heaps of punches/rubber stamps, etc and not a huge stash of all the various embellishments etc.......... I tend to buy when I run out of something rather than keep a huge stock of things. C xx |

I always did mine in the dining room, and had the cupboard under my stairs altered for storage. Didn't last long, too small, and last
year I took over one of the bedrooms and had it as my craft room. The trouble is, my smallest bedroom, is my pc room, and there are NO spare beds. this weekend
that's all going to be rectified (I'm dreading it!) because my grandies want to come stay for a week, sleeping on a blow up is ok for 1 or 2 nights,
but not a week! My craftroom has got to be completely re-sorted so that I can get my pc & desk etc in there too!
It's taken me all evening to box up 2 drawers of wooden stamps, and I dread to think how long the rest is going to take me. Think I ought to have a sale!! There are pics of my craftroom, in my photobucket. It looked like that, for at least the first week!

I've got a table in spare bedroom, craft things tend to find there way to lounge. James said ages ago we could convert the bedroom into a proper craftroom
but hasn't done anything about it - YET. Think I might have to start nagging.

Don't worry, I have less room than you.
I have one and a half IKEA Billy bookcases on which I store most of my stuff, along with a tote trolley and smaller bits bag that goes on top and a couple of Ikea boxes all sitting at the end of my bed! THe bookcases are on the wall opposite my bed by about 2 feet and I either sit on the bed with one of those TV folding tables in front of me (touching the bed & bookcases with my legs folded somewhere in the middle or I cart everything downstairs and cover the dining table in my livingroom). Only prob is we are a family of 5 and I use table every day morning, noon & night! And, I hate carting everything up & down and I can't leave anything about or my son throws his dinner on it! I keep thinking about posting MY carfting area like the American scrapbookers sites just so they could see poor me and the deprivation!!!! Caroline |

I keep stuff under the stairs, under the kitchen table and under the lounge/dining room table! I also have a desk in the bedroom with shelves above where I
keep all my rubber stamps and inks etc. I either craft on the lounge table or on my desk upstairs. The trouble is the desk is really too small for me to
spread all my stash out, and if I use the lounge table I have to clear enough room on it for us to eat
. When I can persuade one of my sons to leave home (just two left now!) I will
move into the resulting spare bedroom with all my craft stuff.

I keep all my crafting stuff in boxes in cupboards in the bedroom & drag it all out to the dining room table when I have a crafting session. BUT.... hubby
is converting our garage into a utility room & craft room. What a lovely man - aren't I the lucky one.

I have a very crammed small room including computer, christmas is under the stais in a very large crate and also top of a bookshelf. More is in the dining
roomand I thinksome of my old stuff in the conservatory. How you ladies & gentlemen cope with a small space I don't know.
Most problem is when I started you needed to buy backing papers etc. but Joanna's CDs are really all I need now. JennyX |

I've got a big kitchen (half the downstairs of my terraced house) and I craft at the table I have in there. I have two 6 drawer trolleys and a 3 drawer
one, all without wheels cos I out too much stuff in and buckled them! 2 shelves and a workmans tool trolley in the kitchen. In the living room I thought
I'd get a bookcase and store all my nice looking craft goodies, but it sort of spilled onto the floor and all the new stuff is sitting in bags waiting for
a home, so living room is a tip! Waiting for BF to put floor to ceiling shelves up in small bedroom and get rid of my old PC and desk to store all my extra
stuff on. Almost fprgot. Got a 6 drawer trolley (with no wheels again!) at the top of the stairs that stores 12x12 paper. Addicted to buying 12x12 paper,
but at least I do scrapbook.
House is basically a huge, untidy craft room. Good job my two cats don't mind!!! Gail - Is your craft room under the stairs by any chance? Love Jill x |
