To cut the story , I finally got through to a comfortable sounding customer adviser named Geoff at Epson!!!!!!! He listened carefully to what I wanted to do with the new printer and stated that none of the current range should be used for more than Epson 250 gm photo paper and it must be epson.. I want to use it for up to 300 gm card stock, vellum and Acetate. That is the bad news.
Here is the GOOD NEWS.. Epson are bringing out a sturdier range of printers in 2009 spring that will do all we ask.
The gentleman inquired" what sort of CDs?" So of course I said the leading ones like Joanna Sheen's and burbled on about there were a lot of people out there buying Craft CDs to print out the components for cards. He very carefully asked for Joanna Sheen's name and he will be looking at the website with a view to seeing what our printer requirements are and will try to pass them on to the manufacturer.
Have I made a breakthrough? He did sound very reliable and he has noted my contact email on his calender for when the full information comes out.
