Wish I could find a round white sink!
I too use lemon juice and vinegar a lot - not tried bicarb so must put that on my shopping list.
Would much rather use 'green' products any day.

I have a round brass sink and draining board (French) which drives me mad as its a pain to clean.

One of the best uses for white vinegar is for the dishwasher just use it in place of rinse aid. It is so much cheaper.

Another ' green tip', this one from a Rolls Royce driver, any tar marks on the car or fresh bird poo, a mild
abrasive is toothpaste , any sort. Re raw chicken, sort it and cut it on a colour coded plastic chopping board used only for meat. Wipe over with salt and wash in hot soapy water; salt also cleans a wooden breadboard too. AND to bring it back to crafts, dampen a piece of card or even a piece of silk with clean water, sprinkle on some real salt crystals and leave to dry.The salt takes the colour out and leaves a magical background AND you can save the salt crystals and use them again for the same job, but not on the dinner table!

I knew Arlene would come up with a gem, and I love the salt effect on my silk painting.

Hi all
I have unable to log on for days & found this thread very interesting. I use the products mentioned but have any of you thought about the chemicals you use personally every day, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, shower
gel, not to mention make up & hair colour. I buy all my products
in the health shop. I use wash balls & a capful of vinegar as a softener in the washing machine. Will someone get me off my high horse now? I don't
have any chemicals in the house as I have numerous alergies & my health as improved a lot since I threw them out.
Have a lovely evening all. Mol |

I always put white vinegar in the final rinse when washing, it makes sure you don't get soap marks on dark coloured clothing. Got that from watching Kim
and Aggie.

I use Dettox anti-bacterial spray which I suppose is another form of bleach but with raw chicken you can never be too careful!!!boiling hot water and then leave in a hot salt solution. Or you can get eco friendly sanitisers |

I have to say, I'm not very "up" on all this. I use the book I bought from QVC, Haleys Hints and tips,& 2 others, Household hint types.
Toothpaste works wonders on all sorts of things. Shaving foam keeps bathroom mirrors steam free for at least 6 weeks, I only recommend things I've actually
tried. My main use for Bicarb, is putting a little bit in boiling water in a cup and putting it in the fridge, takes any smells away.I also use the Dettox,
anti bacterial spray, but I have a thing about Flash, have always used it, sorry I know it's a chemical, but I always feel as if everything is nice and
clean when I've used it. xx Jacqui x
