In answer to my own posting. I bit the bullet and bought some of this paper when Crafter's Companion was running a free p & p promotion so I didn't have to buy a lot of it.

It's excellent quality but not smooth like hot pressed. It has a texture which makes it unsuitable for my requirements, but good for watercolouring rubber stamps.  I found a supplier for hot pressed at a reasonable price, so I'm now fixed.
