We have just had cavity wall insulation done, but won't know how much difference it makes until winter. I make OH and son turn lights off, they seem to think it is Blackpool illumination time when they are in and turn all the lights on but never turn them off. Have been looking through cook books for cheaper meals, but I won't economise on food. I go to the same butcher who only has British meat. If I shop and something has gone up a lot, I won't buy it but wait until I go somewhere else where it is cheaper. I shop at Aldi or Lidl for fruit and veg which are far better than most other supermarkets and stay fresh longer. Hubby has just swapped the car for one with a diesel engine which is far more economical on fuel. Basically like everyone probably, just trying to save money wherever possible. The proposed increases in gas and electricity is really frightening.
