I don't have any central heating and have 1 electric fire which we only put on in the winter. But we wear lots of layers, have thermal longjohns, all have slankets and lots of socks!! The nearest Asda is a 80 mile round trip so do all my shopping online as we don't have a car. I work from home so I don't go out much...maybe twice a year. Have lots of insulation, door curtains and draught excluders. Have lots of quilts and blankets around. Batch cook lots and don't do ready meals. Soup is on the go all winter and all stews and casseroles are bulked out with barley and lentils. All my veg comes from a local shop who deliver. Freeze milk, cream, buttermilk and butter, oh! and cheese if its on offer.
Reading this back it does sound a bit austere but I always feel as if I have a truly good life and wouldn't swop it. I haven't been able to walk properley for nearly 6 six years but I always look for the bright side....too much pollyanna when i was little lol....I have to say all you sheenies have inspired me to look at what I do spend though so thankyou all..Genny
