Hi Flora I don't stay over for Hobbycraft, my bank account couldn't take 4 days of it!  But I am there for 4 days for Festival of Quilts each year as I teach and there are the quilts to look at as well as retailers. I've stayed at the Hilton, very close but pricy and not always that helpful, the Crowne Plaza (overbooked for meals) and the last 3 years at the Ramada Encore which we really like, and is affordable.  The breakfasts this time were not quite as luxurious as previous years, which I guess is a sign of the recession and their keeping room costs down.  The staff are really helpful, rooms have free internet access, lovely wet room style bathrooms, everything is very clean.

My main gripe was that the loo cisterns are built into the wall so you can't use them to chill your wine for when you return to the room in the eveningsmiley: laugh.  But unlike the Hilton we found the staff are happy to give you a pint glass of ice when you come back to the hotel (I put a donation on their charity box) enabling a civilized drink in the room before joining the others later in the bar.

Hope this helps
Anne
