When I came over for the Hobbycraft shows  in March & November 2010 I stayed at the Etap hotel at the airport. At that time it was £18 for a double room but I think the prices have gone up a bit now.
The room is basic double bed, colour tv, toilet & shower pod but clean. No tea making and only a breakfast bar near the reception area in the mornings. It suited my needs as I would rather have that bit more crafty spending money. smiley: rollsmiley: roll

Very easy to get to the NEC. Out of the hotel turn left, turn the corner, cross the road and into the airport. Up the escalator to the monorail to the Railway station, Walk across the railway station and enter the overhead walkway to the NEC... Here you have a choice, you can either carry on walking or within 100yds take the lift on the left down to the road, cross the road to the bus stop and catch the courtesy bus to the front door of the show.  Visa versa on the way back. Schimples!!!
There are 2 other hotels at the airport, which I would think have slightly better facilities but inevitably will be that much more for the room.
