The point of the thread was to say about what we USED to do compared to now.
Lots of cards look so much better-- foiled --for example, and I've had foils for years but could never make them look as good as  a manufactured  one. You couldn't go into a shop and buy a personalised one, or one with a tea bag on and so on and so forth,  so we made them ourselves and made them different to shop bought ones, including the personalisation.
No one should have to apologise for what they do, and no one else should criticize them for what their cards are like, unless they ask for an opinion, and usually that card has already been made anyway!  A very wise friend has just said to me. we don't know if that person has a disability, bad eyesight, or perhaps only just started, so no one should pass judgement either.

Perhaps I should have asked about the price now of all the goods, and how expensive it's become to make cards if you want all the machines , the dies and so on and so forth.smiley: smile

We were writing at the same time Paula, I don't think any one has the right to think they're superior to anyone else, I know there are some posts that certainly come across that way, and I just ignore them. Hundreds of thousands of die cut kits are sold, that doesn't make them any more invaluable or made up with less thought than any other, same as some people have more talent, or perhaps different talents that they use, none are inferior, and I hate that you think you should EVER have to apologise!! If you make a card for a friend, it's made with thought and care, and is appreciated whether one has started from scratch, or used THE most sophisticated machine. xx
