The black magic paint is brilliant - I did our old swing and some metallwork on a garden bench last year - and they still look fab. It is recommended for wrought iron and it has a rust inhibitor in it. I had also half prepared one of the baskets at the end of last year - i.e. painted the outside of the basket and the chain as an experiment, and left it out in the garden, and that was still good - so only had to paint the bottom and the inside.

The best thing about the paint is that it is water-based - so your brushes can be washed out in soapy water. Unlike H""""rite which is solvent based and nightmare to work with. The finish is black matt. This year I have also given my water feature (an imitation pump) a brighten up as it was looking a tad grey - so with water continually running out of the painted spout, think that will give a good idea of how well it will last.

I'll try and remember to take some photos of what I painted lat year so you can judge for yourselves. The paint was originally mentioned by Dave Bradford (I think) in one of Sheena's shows when they were talking about "fusioning" wateringcans. Made a note and originally bought it when I read the write up for doing the swing etc. It was the washing out the brushes in water that won me over!
