Ooh this is a 'tricky one'!
Questions...
1, I think it depends on who the couple are and what they mean to you....friend, relation, acquaintance.
2, What sort of price are they asking and to pay for what? .... meal, towards the wedding in general.
3, If they have been living together for awhile, or wanting to get married 1st, and what their finances were?
Answers .....
1, If it was a close relative or very close friend? A positive 'maybe'
2, If it was towards the actual wedding...then no, if it was towards the meal (if invited for full daytime do) then maybe yes depending on the price. (£25-30?)
3, If the couple were just starting out and wanted a decent 'send off' then more than likely as long as everything wasn't overboard. If they'd been livivng together and got kiddies then defiantely NO!
With regards to the bridesmaids dresses 1st time Mum paid for my dress and going away outfit, I paid for bridesmaids material and made the dresses myself. They bought their own shoes.
2nd time I bought my dress and accesories and only had Sarah as a 'flower girl' so bought hers aswell.
I think I'd have to actually be put in this situation to answer truthfully.
