Both of my boys were extremely independent, my youngest moved to Derby to work for his Uncle before joining the army, and now lives in Wales, I see him in fits and starts! when he can afford to get home. My eldest son has always been a rep so from quite a young age he's travelled and stayed in hotels. When they were both at home I could willingly have tossed them out, especially when they discovered lager! didn't last long thankfully, and now as my eldest drives for his job, it's never in the equation. My daughter bought a house just before my husband was taken ill, and then wouldn't move in, because she wanted to be here, even though it's only 20 minutes away.
I feel the same for these youngsters that are homeless, a lot of people look down on them but we don't know the reasons for them being homeless in the first place, so people shouldn't judge. Only just out of school and having to look after themselves must be a total nightmare!
I don't see any end to the housing problem unless they start building council houses again, how can any of them get onto the property ladder in the first place?
We lived with my Nan when we first got married, and then she gave that house up to go live with her son, and the council gave us a 2 bedroomed maisonette, which was brilliant.
We bought this house 30 + years ago, but I wonder now whether Maggie did the right thing selling off the council properties?
Going a bit off track heresmiley: embarassed
