I left home at 18 to join the RAF and train as a nurse, when I had to leave after an accident I did go home but only for a few weeks, OH rescued me from what would have been a life of looking after my Mum who had early onset Alzheimers. My Dad didn't want me to be tied at home and encouraged me to move up to Scotland to be nearer Alec, we had planned to get married later that year. I went to live with OH's family until we married and then we moved into a caravan near the base until we were allocated married quarters.
My brother left home at 16 to join the RAF and my wee sister left at 19 living in a flat with her best friend.

As for our children, Jenny went up to Uni in Dundee but couldn't find a job up there after Uni, she came home and within a couple of weeks had found a job near Oxford so moved to Witney where she stayed until she managed to get a job in Scotland.

No1 son was at home until he went to Uni in2005, he came home when he left so that he could learn to drive and buy a car, he moved out last June into a rented house with his GF and they have just bought thier first house together.

No2 son first moved out when he was almost 19, he came back home for a year when he was quite ill but couldn't wait to move out again, he likes to be independant, he has been home for a few months due to illness again but he has been living in Northampton for the past five years.
They all know that they have a home with us if they want or need it but they have all worked hard at being independant and I think we have done a fairly good job.
