Rhymes and ditties have already been mentioned Janet, and I've said while some people have an aptitude for writing them, many don't.  There's a few of us that always write ditties on the forum for a giggle, but I can see those who say "I can't string  2 words together, let alone a rhyme" just staying away from that sort of comp altogether. I don't know if it's just our forum or if any others are the same. The same people suggest things and join in, and most of the others say "yes" we're all for it, and you never hear from them again. Same with a monthly card and the challenges, it's very disheartening. JMO xx
I saw rhymes had been mentioned - I read all the mails -and that's why I thought of Limericks as being a recognised form of rhyme that only needs 5 lines.  I personally find them easier to write than a verse of indeterminate length, from scratch.  Several people seemed to want the caption continued, so words to pictures as Limericks, rather than poems, seem to be a way of using Joanna's designs in a different form, don't you think?
I did also suggest a photo style comp as an alternative.
It isn't easy to come up with something original again!! I thought of the caption comp in the first place but my brain is blank now.
 Just trying to help!!
