Apparently you are only referred to a specialist when it has turned wet as there is no treatment for dry AMD. They supposedly have it written in their notes, but nothing we have has any mention of it. If they had only mentioned the urgency of seeing a specialist if anything changed to hubby or me, I would have known straight away.
My mum was told hers was the dry kind and warned about getting it checked out regularly and that if things changed she needed to be referred quickly. I would say you need to be told even if there is no treatment - for warned and all that.
