My mum has just been diagnosed with this.  She has dry in her left eye and wet in her right.  She has had one injection in the right eye and will be having the second next Monday, and then a third a month after that.  They will then just see her monthly.  She also saw a specialist in February this year, but he didn't diagnose it, it has only come about when she went for an eye test.  This was an extra test because she was worried about how her sight was going.

She also has slight cataracts and she will be put on the waiting list for these to be done once she has had all the injections, hopefully they will be done sooner rather than later.  Another problem she has is "droopy" eyelids, so they will also treat these.  She's been joking that she's going to have a facelift!

Thankfully, she can still read her Kindle and this has been a lifesaver as she is an avid reader.  She also paints and is still managing to do this as long as the light is bright.  According to the hospital her sight should not get any worse, they will just keep it stable.  She will probably need more injections in the future.

I will find out about the Zinc and Luiten and suggest she starts taking it.
