I can't go to the shopping centre or supermarket without someone collecting for something.Today the spot where the poppy sellers were has been taken over by people collecting for children in need.
Then I get bags put through the door, mailshots from charities I've supported in the past plus a few I haven't, I'm bombarded with ads when I watch tv, I have had them on the phone as well and to have them knocking on the door is just going too far. I simply say I never give at the door and always make my donations online which is true for the most part - I always get my poppy from a seller.

Times are tough I get that, but things aren't easy for any of us including those in work! I support the charities I can and with limited funds if I give to new charities then it takes away from the ones I regularly support and they are relying on people like me to keep giving. Every charity is worthwhile but as there are thousands of them on the register we can each of us only do so much.
