Nina - we were told that if my Mum's hearing goes again like it did before, then we are to go to A&E - they have an audiology unit within A&E and said that any sudden loss of hearing should be looked at straight away, especially in my Mum's case when she is 90 and her sight is poor - loss of hearing as well leaves her unable to communicate and is dangerous for her.

I realise that this lady (on the programme) may not have suffered a sudden loss (didn't see the programme) but if it was, then she was right to go there. If it was just normal, gradual loss though then no, of course she shouldn't have gone.
