I do have a halogen oven but there are others on here who are far more proficient who can answer all the cooking queries.
It is very good and does take up some room [no more than a microwave] so I tend to put it away in a cupboard as I prefer to keep the worktop clear.
The one drawback I find is that it is noisy and as I have an open plan kitchen/living room I don't use it if I have friends over. It is economical, but I'm a lazy cook with a ten-minute rule; if you can't cook a meal in that time, then think of something else, so I almost always use the induction hob. Now that is great, and you can buy portable ones for around £50 I think.
I always cook from fresh ingredients, hate pre-prepared meals with a vengeance, and yes, the halogen is very good [if I can remember to use it!]
