We've been listening to the darn things for several weeks now and it's really getting on my nerves. Our poor Millie is so like Scooby Doo it scarey, she's a big girl but you can really see her shake and she tries to hide under my skirt and behind furniture, (she is a dog by the way) it's awful and the poor cats have to stay in, we couldn't let them out at night any more. I think they are great to watch in big displays but will never understand how the public, and especially children, can be allowed to buy explosives - at newsagents of all places - it doesn't make any sense at all. It will go on here now until after Christmas and right through the year on weekends, it seems no party is complete with them. When I think of the money that people are burning - well they must have more money than sense, and why do parents allow children to play with them out in the street, then when they get badly hurt complain because they're available for their children to buy, whatever happened to parental control! Sorry to go on but this is one of my bugbears and I really wish they could be banned but it seems they can't because apparently people have to be able to buy them for religious festivals of varying sorts but I still don't think it's right and would be happy if they were only available for large controlled displays.
