Plan?
Depends if it is for a special card, when I might scribble a rough idea on paper, although normally go with the flow of the theme I want, but mainly :
I just start with a few images - either from computer or a stamp. Colour them - maybe add some extra colour to a printed image from computer. Sometimes, I might matt and layer them. Put them in "toppers" box. I make toppers as the mood takes me.
At a later date will get a selection of card out and decide what shape card I want and whether vertical or horizontal - and start to put the card together, adding more layers and/or backing papers, peel off strips, etc as I think will work.
I will then create a suitable insert - or in the case of Xmas cards - sort them into shapes and then run off required number of inserts. then sit and trim inserts and glue them in card.
So basically no planning - just inspiration!
