Hi Nicola, I live on the outskirts of Sheffield.going towards Chesterfield. We've been watching from work all the LUNATIC DRIVERS that have been racing passed where I work into a dip. The water was 4 feet deep!!! and they were hitting it at 50 - 55 m.p.h!!! Then wondering why they were getting stuck. If they had taken their time coming down the hill they would have time to see the 4 cars already stuck in there with water half way up their windows.

Also one of the young chaps got a call from his wife to go home at lunch time. She had walked in from work to find the house was flooded with 18 inches of water, from the kitchen right through to the lounge. They have only been married a year and just got the house how they wanted it. When it came to, the neighbours had BUILT OVER the manhole cover so they couldn't let the water escape anywhere.

It came over the 6.30 local news that a young boy (15 ish) had been swept away down the Sheaf in Millhouses. police helicopters are out looking for him, but as yet no news.

It's turned quite cold here now and a very strong wind has got up in the last hour, it is still raining, but not as heavy thank goodness chrisb
