Ok, the latest news report was that the parents admitted they gave their daughter a crushed up ecstasy tablet but it was a mistake. Apparently they thought it was her own medication that that they had crushed up. Now I'm not a parent, but can anyone tell me what medication exists for babies that comes in tablet form that is necessary for parents to crush up? What I mean is, doesn't all baby medication come in liquid form since they can't swallow a tablet? I know that it isn't advisable for anyone to crush up a tablet as they are designed to be swallowed whole to allow for delayed dispersal around the body. If I am wrong, I am happy to be corrected, but what kind of parent uses the argument that they accidently gave their baby a crushed up ecstasy tablet instead of her own medicine. The baby is still in an induced coma, but is expected to make a full recovery.
