The detailed embossing powder works really well.

Another tip Andrew is if you get a "blind "spot in your embossing,where a patch of powder hasn't melted but everything else around it has, then heat it from underneath to melt it so that you don't risk putting too much heat on your design for too long and the whole thing goes dull. I quite often start heating the underside of the card before directing the heat onto the powder on the topside. It often helps to get a shinier finish.
