I get it in the right place with something like greeting card factory where you can choose front, inside or back, but you could do it in most programs where you can put text. You would just need to work out where text on the screen prints on your paper so you can work out where to place the image. In greeting card factory I choose a card blank to match the card I am using and then print it on the back.
To get my image with some text I inserted my weemee - the little person I see you are also using as your avatar - and into a photo program like paint.net and using the Text tool - the A in that program - just wrote under the wee mee "made for you by Joannie", saved the whole image as a jpeg and can now stick it anywhere I like. If you were selling the cards you could put "made by Debbie" instead of made for you etc.
