Found a water leak in the bathroom last night so panic struck. Said to OH not to worry as we have an insurance for 365 day 24 hr plumber. I will ring the 24 emergency line.

It took 36 minutes of listening to music before someone answered. Then I was told the plumber would ring me back within 1/2 hour. A lady rang me back to say no emergency plumber until this morning. We had no choice but to keep mopping up all night. He arrived this morning and supposedly fixed the leak but I am not comvinced as I have just found a spot of water again at least this time it is only a spot not like it was.

I think atrong letter of complaint will be on its way to the firm.
I had that on thursday, except mine was a whole joint that went under the bath where it wasn't a high compression joint needed for the new boiler that had been installed the week before. I phoned the insurance people I'm with - Homecall Plus - and was put through straightaway. They had a bloke here within an hour and it was fixed - with a big bugger of a compression joint - three hours after it happened - I was able to stop it running by turning the stopcock though so it wasn't too much of a mess. I do, however, turn that stopcock before I go out for much more than half an hour now. At least if something goes the water won't be pouring out.

I had to pay for a plumber the same day for a leak under the kitchen sink and that leaked again, but he came back, was happy to have another look, found it and sorted it, all for no extra charge and with a very pleasant friendly attitude. I put the number of that firm in my book straightaway - very impressed.
