I had a problem with that emergency cover a couple of years ago - I thought I was paying for repairs but it turned out that all they would do was stop the leak the quickest (ie cheapest) way possible. My water tank burst and all they would do was tie that ballcock up so it wouldn't fill up anymore. I cancelled the policy and wrote a letter of complaint - I never got a reply but the cheeky so and so's keep phoning up to say my cover has lapsed and would I like to renew it!
Good luck, hope you get it sorted out soon

I did wonder if they would just stop the leak with my policy, but no, they replaced the joint on the pipe and restored hot water to my home. I think there are things that they wouldn't do even though I needed water etc to the home, but it does say in the policy something about the restoration of heating and domestic hot water and they had to do the joint to be able to do that. You'ld think they'd have to do the water tank in your case too though, wouldn't you? Was it Homecall Plus you had or some other company?
