Nothing quite as bad as some of these but when I arrived at the church we were told that we had to drive around for a while as all of David's family had managed to forget their buttonholes and a groomsman had been sent back for them. No-one realised until they got to the church and the usher asked where the buttonholes were. David and best man were sat at the front of the church in the usual positions when the minister invited them into the vestry to sort out their flowers but of course none of the guests knew that and they thought I had decided not to go through with it

Our honeymoon was in France and involved a very early ferry so we spent the first night in a hotel in Portsmouth. Having warned that we would arrive late we got there about 10 and were met by a very creepy man. He took us up to our room (right next door to communal bathroom, with only a wooden partition between us - yuk) then discovered he had brought the wrong key and had to go back for it. When we got into the room he turned the TV on, plonked himself on the bed and got comfy, then asked my husband if he was going to watch the "big fight". By this time I was ready for one of my own! Before finally leaving he asked if we wanted an early call and when we said yes he flipped the switch on the intercom and said right then you will hear me in the morning. This worried me and I asked him if would be able to hear us, he kept avoiding that question so the first thing I did when he left was turn it off.
We didn't sleep much that night - and not because it was our wedding night - the sheets didn't fit the bed and everytime one of us turned over the other had to get out and pull the sheets back over their side of the bed, in addition to which there was that wooden partition wall - we heard in unfortunate detail everything which happened in that bathroom throughout the night. I am so glad that it was the Travel Agent who booked that hotel, if it had been me I would never have lived it down! We were back in the area 10 years ago and passed by the hotel. We were really glad to see that it was being gutted and refurbished - just hope that it had had a change of owner too.
